Since 2008 I've worked on commercial interactive installations at the Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz, Austria. For most of my time at the lab, I was the lead developer of the cornerstone piece of a large installation for the Vienna Airport. For this piece I coded a distributed realtime graphics system for a 50 megapixel videowall, and developed a hybrid 2D/3D text rendering technique which portrays a 3D surface in the distorted text style of the 60's. I also developed a graphical translation system allowing the text in a given location on the screen to be translated into any Unicode language. I worked with geographic datasets for this piece as well. That work is complete, but not yet installed due to a construction delay at the airport, so I cannot yet provide visual documentation! Woe is me.
